Well Mother:–
I am sitting in my room alone the sun of noon is shining over my left shoulder and onto the pad so you can figure what side of house my room is on. The dubble windows are about 3-6 by 4 ft about four feet apart I sleep under one corner of one I keep half of it open each night and roll up in two blankets so you can judge that it is nice and warm weather. The nights an't chill here like out home every thing is green but the trees, the leaves have all fallen sometime ago. that periode that they fell in I seem to have been so buisy that I did not notice. I remember standy by a creek one a.m. about day light washing and look up I tumbled that the trees were bare well I just thot how I had forgotten to watch the change in the color of the leaves just as they starte to fall. That was about the time I was in the heavy fighting.
They drive a lot of little donkeys and dogs here and make good use of them to. I some times go to a saloon here and sit and write it is as good a place as any men being around there is no different than any other place we get used to any kind of a man in the army.
The power of God is the only thing that can keep a man right in this life I am purely convinced.
I had a good first aid lecture this A.M. there is 20 of use to each batt'n.
I got a package from Annie this A.M cookies and gloves two pair of knit ones that is five pairs she has sent me, I give them to the boys that need them
bye bye as ever
