Dear Mother:–

Yesterday I spent in getting ready to go on leave I went down and drew ten pounds then I bot a few things I felt I needed to make myself feel more at home when walking around the cities.

Then in the evening I had to both and change cloths after that I took in a Lecture On Spain by a man who has traveled and studied the life of the Spaniard. he allso showed us the scenes as he went on that he took while he traveled

I do not like to spend the money that I will have to on my leave, but I feel that this is a chance of a life time to see Scotland and for any future good I must go up there to spend the 12 days. I will try to write some each day as I go from city to city.

I have to take this holiday dressed in my blue cloths so I will have to take in the looks of sympathy that most all wemen seem to give the soldiers they see with a visible bandage or who hopps on crutches.

I do not want any sympathy all tho I still have a bandage there is a very slight discharge from the bullet exit between my third and little finger the rest of the wound is healed entirely. It has tickled the Sisters how rapidly my hand has healed since I have been here, The Doctor does not look at it when the Sister thinks that there is a change needed in dressings she suggests them and carries them out and they seem to just hit right. The Sister said last night the the wounds heal according to the man disposition, that is why mine has go on so well. te. he.

The weather is a lot nicer than it was a few weeks ago I should be out walking around but I will be every day from now when I get away from my books. I can't seem to tare my self away from them here.

Well bye bye Mother dear as ever your loving son
Laurie
