Letter to Mother from Scilly Isle
28-1-18 Scilly Isle,
Dear Mother:–
I left London last night at 950, had until 730 A.M, on the thru train, slept part of the time, then I got breakfast, and done a little shopping, and caught the boat. for here a distance of 42 miles, The boat was about 80 ft long and a choppy sea, so you can imagine how sick yours truly soon got, and then I lost a good breakfast of bacon and eggs, And would have lost ten but they weren't there, Any way I went down in to the cabin and lay on a bench about three out of the four hours of the trip.
Mr Deason Mrs Deason were at the dock to meet me, then we road home in a rig about a mile and a half, I with I could explain, this part as it is so you could see it, I till try and send the best cards home that I can get.
Well good night Mother dear
as ever your loving son
Laurie.
