18th [no greeting]
We are shooting on ranges today and a nice day to, it is fine to be out early in the A.M. was up at 5.
Yesterday we practiced first aid in the A.M. and in P.M. practiced digging in with entrenching tools, I just wore my sweater with out sleeves in so I got my arms sun burned some, but will only last a few days, I got some thing to put on them before I went to bed so they were not as sore this A.M. as when I went to bed.
The ranges are in a fine place here we shoot into a big hill covered with trees facing south. and it is not far from camp. So we have it easier than some other batt'ns that have to walk farther.
We have co'y first aid compotetion on on sunday we may get trimmed but will try to clean up on them,
19th 4 P.M.
Well Mother I am sitting at an old table in our hut sunday In front of me I have a tommy cooker going heating water to boil eggs for supper, just a treat on the side Bob Mc and I had fried eggs for dinner to.
I ran in the mile race this P.M., five times around our ground and a third per mile well I stayed up to fifth man in the fifth time around then I quit I was not fast enough to get any thing and I had stayed long enough so fell out.
I was in the 20 man relay race we won, that was all I took part in. Our A co'y S.B.s took seond in compelition, I beleave a co'y is going to get the most points in the Batt'n sports.
My eggs are on, 9 in a mess tin for the two Bobs and I.
