Postcard to Mother from Witley South

Dear Mother:–

(1) I may have seen this scene on my trip to Compton but I an’t going to say that I did for sure. But I saw several like it and it is a good typical picture of an English Village

I am off duty this P.M. I took my shoes down to the shoe maker to get them half soled and am wearing my fatigue shoes.

I turned in my other issue when I was up on that draft and I will not get an other pair until the board meets again.

The day is cloudy and not cold at all but not warm enough to thaw out the inch of frost that is in the ground.

I was down at Gowers last night and had a fine time for about an hour.
