Dear Mother:–

3 P.M. We just got back from a bath. I got a new pair home knit socks that had never been worn or washed clean change of cloths.

We had a good meeting last night just four of use present, but the number never hurt the amount of individual good one can derive from an evenings study and talk.

I met an other minister and my first several evenings acquantance did not give me very good impressions of him but do you know that our meetings are bring him back to God in a way he may not realize himself and he is a great help and may be of far more than has been till now.

6 P.M.  10th

I received two letters tonight and a small box of candy that I havent opened because I have not finished the one I got yesterday from you. It was fine, I opened it after I was all ready for bed and Duncan and I did eat what we felt like then I put some in a paper and took it over to Pete Campbells bunk he was rolled up in bed But not in blankets and quilts but his coats. It is a lot warmer here than at home. I take off my pants and sleep in my shorts and tunic and gray coat, with my ground sheet under me.

I am sitting out in a field where a French man is plowing with about an 8 horse Avery Gass engine with a 14 in. Oliver self life gang two furrow. we came out to watch him to night the other boys
